Doo-Wop Daddy-O… WTF?

Doo-Wop Daddy-O – “What the hell is that?” I hear you cry! Well it’s the brand new bonus video slot released by Rival Gaming on August 25th 2010… and it may well make you cry!

I gave it a few spins in “fun mode” the morning it appeared to sus it out and here is my mini review:-

First impressions were quite good; Graphics look good, sounds are good, spins nicely.

I soon noticed a significant difference from most (all?) other Rival slots – it has 3 lots of scatter symbols. Two of these award picking style bonus rounds, while the scatters themselves pay zilch like on their other games, but the 3rd type of scatter DOES pay for hitting 2 or more, though WITHOUT triggering a bonus feature.

It also has a nice feature where wins made with the wild symbol are multiplied by the number of wilds used – this means you could get up to 4x the win listed on the pay-table, like this x3 win: ScreenShot.

However, I also soon noticed this slot has a couple of annoying facets & glitches…

I got both types of feature in just a few spins; with the Soda Fountain Bonus the welcome screen says “combine the ingredients” so I expected to be able to chose – but you can’t chose, it TELLS you where you must click! See this for yourself on YouTube (my first ever go at that bonus!)

Also, when the Drag Race bonus round finishes you get a screen where the total amount won counts up on the screen, with a “Continue (back to the slot)” button – but it doesn’t wait for you to click the button, it just goes back before the count-up has even finished!

The last thing I personally found annoying is the way the border around the slot flashes while you’re playing.

Microgaming 2 – opens for USA players this June!

To be honest I don’t fully understand this (especially the bit about not having to download new software) but I received the following communication from the Playshare Group, after recent indications that ALL Microgaming casinos will be completely pulled out of the USA on June 1st:-

As of the 1st of June, 2010, play for US players on CasinoShare and Grand Mondial will be moved off the Microgaming platform and we will begin licensing software from a brand new software provider. The new software will have a similar look and feel, stability and most of the features you have become accustomed to, but with some notable changes. This change has been made in order to ensure that we are able to continue offering safety, service and exciting gaming to all our customers.

This new casino, called CasinoShare US, launches on the 17th of May, 2010, and will offer players the same look and feel as the Microgaming software they all know and love, as well as all of the features and most of the games they have come to expect from an online casino.

All US players at CasinoShare will be migrated to CasinoShare US by the 17th of May, 2010, whilst all US players at Grand Mondial players will be migrated on the 31st of May, 2010. From a player perspective, the migration process will be completely seamless and won't be required to download new software or open a new account. They will utilize their existing accounts and their balances will be transferred.

Whether this means they will be taking NEW American customers is not clear, but I imagine they will be.
